Mehran Yusuf is the third generation of the family on this land, and the first to run it as a company. He grew up on these fields, left to study and work abroad, and came back with a clear view of what the farm could become if it were managed properly rather than simply inherited.

He holds a Master of Employment Relations from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada and a BBA from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro. Alongside that, he brings more than five years of professional management experience across Canada and Pakistan — including roles with the Canadian Red Cross and the College of the North Atlantic — and founded a technology startup in Canada before returning home.

That combination is unusual in Pakistani agriculture, and it shows in how the farm is run. The family operation was incorporated as Berke Haddock (Private) Limited, with formal accounts, written supply agreements, documented employment for the farm team, and traceability from the field to the crate. His postgraduate field is employment relations, so the way the 25-person team is hired, paid and treated is not an afterthought here — it is the thing he was actually trained to do.

What has not changed is the farming itself: patient, hand-harvested, and honest about what it is. The systems exist to protect that, not to replace it.

The company

From family proprietorship to Berke Haddock (Private) Limited

For decades the farm was run informally, as family farms here usually are. Today it operates as an incorporated company — Berke Haddock (Private) Limited — led by Mehran Yusuf as Chief Executive Officer. Incorporation brings formal accounts, contracts our wholesale partners can rely on, documented employment for our team, and a structure that can hold the farm together for the next generation.

Our journey

Three generations on the land

  1. The 1980s

    It begins with one field

Our grandfather plants his first crop on a handshake and a belief that food tastes better when it's grown with patience.

  2. 1990s – 2000s

    The farm grows

The next generation expands to 60 acres — adding the orchard, berry patch, poultry and dairy that define the farm today.

  3. 2018

    The fish ponds go in

Cropland is dug over to managed freshwater ponds for rohu, thaila and tilapia — and the nutrient-rich pond water starts feeding the vegetable plots.

  4. 2024

    Farm to your door

Mehran Yusuf takes the reins as the third generation and brings the harvest online — same honest farming, now delivered fresh across Pakistan.

  5. Today

    Incorporated for the long run

The farm moves from a family proprietorship to a registered company — Berke Haddock (Private) Limited — with Mehran Yusuf as Chief Executive Officer.

How we farm

Patient, traditional, honest

Crop rotation

We rotate crops season to season to keep the soil healthy and naturally fertile.

Careful watering

Efficient irrigation means we use only the water our fields actually need.

Hand-harvested

Picked by hand at peak ripeness — not machine-stripped weeks early.

Grown with care

Patient, traditional farming with compost and natural inputs wherever we can.
