Fresh rohu fish online, netted to order from our own ponds

Rohu, thaila and tilapia netted to order from our six ponds in Tando Allahyar, Sindh. Cleaned on the farm, moved chilled, never frozen.

We have raised freshwater fish here since 2018, and until now you could only buy it by messaging us. Six ponds, stocked thin, netted against confirmed orders — there is no tank of fish sitting on ice waiting for a buyer. Order today and the net goes in tomorrow morning before the sun does, because fish handle heat stress badly and every hour after that costs you texture.

Netted against your order, not held on ice

Most rohu sold in Pakistani markets was netted somewhere else two to four days ago and has been sitting on melting ice ever since. That is the entire reason people have low expectations of freshwater fish. We net on a schedule built around confirmed orders, clean and cut on the farm, and move the fish chilled the same morning. If we cannot get it to you in that window, we say so instead of shipping it anyway.

Low stocking density is why it doesn't taste muddy

The muddy note people associate with pond fish is geosmin, a compound produced by algae that thrive in overcrowded, oxygen-poor water. A dense pond grows more kilos per acre on paper and then needs constant dosing to keep the fish alive. We stock thin, test dissolved oxygen and pH daily, and make small corrections rather than large ones. It is worse economics per acre and it is the difference you taste.

The ponds feed the fields, too

Pond water is nutrient-rich, and pumping it onto our vegetable plots works as a gentle fertiliser — the beds on pond water are visibly greener than the ones on canal water alone. That loop is the reason aquaculture earned its place on a crop farm here rather than sitting as a separate business. Nothing is wasted between the two halves of the operation.

How we cut it

Tell us at checkout whether you want your fish whole, cut into darha steaks, or filleted, and we do it on the farm at no extra charge. Whole fish travels best and keeps longest. Fillet yield on carp is low because of the bone structure, which is why fillets are priced per kilo of finished fillet rather than of live weight.

Fish & Seafood — common questions

What is the price of rohu fish per kg?
Ours is ₨850 per kilo for whole cleaned rohu, ₨800/kg on a 5 kg order. Market rates across Karachi and Lahore typically run ₨700–1,100/kg depending on season and fish size — but that fish has usually spent several days on ice before it reaches the counter.
Can I order fresh fish online for delivery in Karachi?
Yes. The farm is roughly three hours from Karachi by road, so Karachi and Hyderabad get next-morning chilled delivery on our netting days. Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi are served by chilled overnight courier on a fixed schedule.
Which fish do you farm?
Rohu (Labeo rohita) and thaila (catla) as our main carps, plus tilapia from the nursery ponds. Rohu is leaner and firmer, thaila is fattier and better for a long curry, and tilapia is the mildest with the fewest bones.
Is the fish delivered live?
No — it is netted, cleaned and chilled on the farm, then moved cold. Live transport stresses the fish badly over any real distance and the flesh quality suffers for it.
Which freshwater fish is most profitable to farm in Pakistan?
For a beginner, tilapia — it tolerates poor water, grows fast and reaches market size in about six months. Rohu commands a better price per kilo but takes a full year or more and wants better water management. Most viable Sindh operations run a polyculture of rohu, thaila and mori together because they feed at different depths in the same pond.
