Plenty of imported seed is bred for temperate climates and simply gives up in a Sindh May. The varieties we keep are ones that have held up through 40°C stretches and our irrigation cycle. If something failed on our fields, it does not go in a packet.

Open-pollinated, so you can save seed

Where we can, we supply open-pollinated rather than hybrid varieties, which means seed you save from this year's plants will grow true next year. Hybrids do not — you have to buy again every season. Saving your own seed is how farming worked here for generations, and we would rather sell you fewer packets.
