Commercial broilers reach slaughter weight in about 35 days on continuous feed. Our birds take substantially longer because they range and grow at their own pace. That is worse economics and better meat — firmer texture, real flavour, and stock that actually sets when you chill it.

Processed against orders, never frozen
We do not hold meat on ice hoping someone buys it. Birds are processed against confirmed orders and moved chilled, which is the only honest way to sell fresh poultry. It means you occasionally wait a day; it also means you never receive something that has been sitting in a freezer for a month.
Why slow-grown birds taste different
Muscle that has been used has flavour. A bird that has spent its life walking around develops firmer, darker meat with a texture closer to what people mean when they say desi murgi. Broiler chicken is softer and blander because the animal never really moved.
Fed from our own fields
The birds forage and are supplemented with grain from our own harvest rather than commercial growth-accelerating feed. We do not use routine antibiotics as a growth measure. If a bird needs treatment it gets it, and it comes out of the food chain for the required withdrawal period.
Sizes, cuts and what arrives
Birds are sold whole and dressed — plucked, cleaned, head and feet removed — and they vary in weight because they are individual animals rather than a standardised product. A desi bird carries less breast and more leg than a broiler of the same weight, so a bird that looks smaller often feeds the same number of people. Tell us when you order if you want it jointed into pieces or the skin left on.
Why the price is what it is
A broiler reaches weight in about six weeks on formulated feed; ours take several months and burn much of what they eat simply moving around. Months instead of weeks, on more feed per kilo gained, is the entire difference. Live and dressed rates are also not the same number — dressed weight is roughly two-thirds of live weight, which is where most of the confusion about chicken prices comes from.

- Is the chicken ever frozen?
- No. Birds are processed against confirmed orders and delivered chilled, never frozen.
- How is desi chicken different from broiler?
- Desi birds are raised far longer and range freely, which gives firmer, darker, more flavourful meat. Broilers reach weight in about five weeks in confinement.
- How should I cook it?
- Slow-grown meat wants slower cooking. Give it more time than a broiler recipe suggests — it rewards a longer braise and makes far better yakhni. For a quick fry or karahi a broiler is honestly the better bird, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong one.
- How much does desi chicken cost compared to broiler?
- Substantially more, and the gap is real rather than a premium for the word. A desi bird takes several months against about six weeks for a broiler, on more feed per kilo gained. Our price page carries the observed ranges for both, with the date each was last checked.
- Do you deliver chicken to my city?
- We deliver chilled across Pakistan, with same-day delivery around Tando Allahyar and next-day to Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. Longer routes travel chilled on scheduled runs — check the delivery pages for what reaches your city and how.
- Can I order chicken online?
- Yes. Order here and the bird is processed against your order rather than pulled from stock, which is why it occasionally takes a day longer than a shop would.
- Do you sell mutton or beef?
- No. Poultry is the only meat we raise. Our meat price page lists mutton and beef rates as reference figures so a price comparison is complete, but they are not products you can order from us.
